Can you view who has accessed your credit score?

My brother has been the final candidate for a number of jobs, and then been told that he didn%26#039;t get the job. We%26#039;re beginning to wonder if these businesses are accessing his credit score, which is bad, and using it against him, and not hiring him.

Is it possible to look up who has accessed your credit rating?

Can you view who has accessed your credit score?

You can view which bank has pulled your credit and even some companies. But if a company is using a 3rd party to pull your credit (i.e. Factual data) then you will only see a Factual Data inquiry, and not the actual company who pulled your credit.

You can get a copy at annualcreditreport.com and look at the inquiries that have been made for the last 24-months.

Did he ask why he did not get the job? Most employers will let you know the reason if you ask. If he got into the final round I am sure they would let him know, even if just to be professional . What type of job is it? If it is one that does not deal directly with money or needing to be insured it is not likey they reviewed his report. It might be something totally different such as experience, salary requirements, bad references.

For them to access his credit report he would have had to sign an authorization. If they did access his credit report/score, and declined him because of that they are required by law to let him know the reason and the company they got the report from. He does not have to go around guessing.

You are allowed to view your credit report once a year from each of the 3 main agencies. If he does find out they did access his report and he did not sign any authorization the employeer could be in serious trouble.
