Find out WHAT is on your credit and making it so bad. More then likely it is bills that you need to pay! Contact those companies and arrange a payment plan and start paying off all those bills! Once you have paid all your bills then you can try for a credit card.

Also you can look at http://www.creditcards.com/ and look under credit cards for people with bad credit. Orchard Bank is the only one that may or may not charge you an application fee (they said my fiance was approved but he had to pay $20, no biggy). You will have a yearly fee though.
