My boyfriend paid off all of the debt that was left from his marriage including a eviction from their appartment. Along with the eviction was a judgement (also paid in full). He had a credit card debt and a bad phone bill (paid in full). He paid all his debts in full for the orginal amount except for the apartment, he took a deal. Its been almost 5 months and his credit score is still in the low 500%26#039;s. Everything shows paid on his credit report...and along with that he has two accounts with low balances joint with me that have been current/no lates for over a year. Does anyone know why his credit score isn%26#039;t getting better? What else do we have to do?
Paid all Debt, but Credit score still poor after 90 Days?
He could ask those companies to remove thier stuff off of his credit report. After paying something off, I have had a company do this before. They may or may not do this.

Here is a sure way to get rid of a bad rating.
He applies to a bank for a personal loan, say $5,000 and YOU go guarantor for the loan, which will involve interest-only payments until the end of the loan period (say 6 months). He gives the money to you and you invest it at the highest current rate you can find for the term of the loan he got. In the meantime your boyfriend pays the interest on his loan, and you give him the interest you get on your $5,000 investment. When his loan comes due, you terminate your investment and give the $5,000 back to him to pay the bank. This WILL restore his credit rating and all it has cost him is the interest he paid on the loan less interest on the investment plus any fees for terminating your investment. The ONLY word of caution -YOU guarantee the loan so YOU invest the money and don%26#039;t let him get his hands on it. If I could figure out a way to charge for this advice I would. It%26#039;s the best you will ever get.

The best advice is never borrow money. Then it doesn%26#039;t matter if your score is zero. A house is the only reason you should borrow money.
Drive a piece of crap and make payments to yourself, then pay cash for the car you want. It%26#039;s called %26#039;delaying gratification%26#039;, and it%26#039;s something that we%26#039;re not used to in this country anymore.
%26quot;I want what I want, and I want it NOW%26quot;. We backhand children for this attitude, but that%26#039;s exactly how adults act today.

where was his credit at before he paid everything off? paying an old account hurts more than it helps.

I think you can accelerate the credit by using your credit card more frequetly and paying back in time everytime.
